Reliving Memorial Day Weekend

How’s everyone’s weekend going?! Rainy? :(  All of this rain got me thinking about how amazing last weekend was and I figured I’d focus on the sunshine and share my Memorial Day weekend!

My weekend started on Friday night at the latest hotspot Emerald (more on that this week!) and then I spun at Red Lulu; amazing as always! Saturday started like every other with a great time at Chocolate Bar. The Chocolate Bar is a really unique and fun way to spend a Saturday in the heart of Boston. Hosted in Café Fleuri at the Langham Hotel in the Boston’s financial district with yours truly bringing the energy! You only have a few more weeks left before it’s gone for the summer, so make sure you check it out and let me know what you think J I finished the night at Governor’s Academy for their end of the year dance with Shadi while DJ Nixx killed it at Red Lulu- #KlassMovement Seriously though it was a #Klassy weekend of some really exciting and fun events.

Sunday and Monday I had the rare, fun opportunity to enjoy two days in a row with my friends and take advantage of #Boston and the weekends’ perfect weather.

Sunday night I went to Legal’s Harborside for the first time. To sum it up: Amazing views of the city and the water, and Great drinks (Coconut Lemonade is KJ #CoSigned).. BUT, the food wasn’t that good and the service was definitely slow. Afterwards the party was at Cure with my friends and #Klassmates DJ Kazz “MrGetWidIt” and DJ Case in attendance, and DJ Hectik behind the DJ booth.

Memorial Day I had lunch with friends, spent some time poolside and ended the night at the best place to be every Monday night: Minibar. DJ Kazz was spinning so you know it was awesome!  But, the best part of Memorial Day were the many, many FB status’ about our nation’s service members.   It was a great way of showing appreciation and the importance of them all and really remembering how fortunate we all are because of them #TrueHeroes.

Please share how you all spent your #MemorialDayWeekend and stay focused on the sunny days ahead!

Join Klass Universal Entertainment’s Network

Klass Universal’s PR team has officially launched a new forum for the latest information on all things #Klassy! You can be a part of our Klass network on Twitter and on our new Facebook page These forums are going to be the sounding block for the latest information and updates on gigs, events, industry news and of course sharing pictures, stories and feedback. We hope you all will participate and become a part of our Klass Universal network and share any pictures or stories you have about a Klass gig or event! It will also be a way for all of you to ask any questions and directly interact with the Klass team.

The Klass network includes all of you! It’s the connections between followers, clients, the #Klassmates and everyone who hasn’t yet had the Klass Experience. Klass Universal wouldn’t be here today without networking. Networking is the way of the world today personally and professionally. It’s about meeting people, communicating and delivering. Some of the previous posts discuss how to communicate and spread positivity. That was meant to share with all of you how this business came to be, how my life has been led and how to find your own success; whether personally or professionally.

Networking can create an opportunity for you to have a conversation with one person who then opens the door to another opportunity, where you meet someone at an event who opens the door to another conversation and on and on and on. It’s important that every conversation and every experience is a positive one and left on a positive and respectful note because you never know when one meeting or one interaction will affect you in the future.

The process allows you to create your own success and lead a lifestyle where every interaction you have is a positive one. You’ll be a happier person and live a happier life, so that better things come your way. It’s not that complicated! Networking is powerful and we would like to extend our network to all of you!

As always I’d love to hear any questions or comments and let’s energize the movement! Start following and posting with #KlassUniversalEntertainment today!

Tour of Boston: Where were you for St. Patrick’s Day?!

St. Patrick’s Day is definitely one of the most heavily celebrated events in Boston. Could it be Southie, the Boston Celtics, Movie “The Town,”  “The Departed,” and their insane embellishment of our accents? (I digress). It seems like every year it’s all anyone is talking about and I’m constantly being asked where I’m going to be and if I celebrate.  Truth is, it’s just like any other weekend for me & #Klass. Meaning: fun, exciting and filled with music and dancing. In other words, worked a few gigs!

This year St. Patty’s Day was on a Sat, which means I was spinning at Chocolate Bar, then I made a special appearance at Red Lulu in Salem, Ma. I love the Chocolate Bar even though I don’t eat much of the chocolate. The Langham Boston Hotel is a dope spot. Right in the heart of the Financial District, the hotel is home to one of my favorite spots; BOND and Cafe Fleuri. Cafe Fleuri has the most amazing, over the top brunch w/live Jazz (perfect for the the next morning). Seriously check that out on Sundays, and Chocolate Bar on Saturdays is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Who isn’t obsessed with Chocolate?!

I won’t even begin to describe how much of an adrenaline rush I had after spinning for Red Lulu on Saturday night. I don’t get behind the DJ booth too much for 2 reasons: 1) Dj Kazz and the rest of the #Klass Dj’s are far better than I, 2) It’s incredibly difficult to stay back there while everyone else is dancin’ it up. Ha! However when I do get back there, It’s a completely different type of fun for me! Red Lulu is a new sexy spot on Lafayette St. Salem, MA. The sister of Lolita in Boston and they both never fail to impress in any regard. I was able to play songs from all kinds of genres and that was easily the best part. From Peter Gabriel, to the Police, to Diddy, Maino, Rihanna, Kings of Leon I mean the list goes on. Crazy Good Time!

Both Lolita of Boston and Lulu of Salem are KJ #CoSigned! Amazing food; I’ve seriously never had anything from there that I didn’t love. Salmon Coco and Shrimp Tacos Please! O,r if you are the healthy type peep their version of the Caesar salad (Try the Croutons) & the drinks are unparalleled. They’re creative and different; every drink is muddled with fresh ingredients/fruit and the menu continues to evolve. Some of my personal favorites are the Bonita, White Lie, Gin Blossom & Diablo margarita. They’re always integrating some new seasonal drinks and menu items soon so check back for any new recommendations!

So how many of you #Bostonians DID go to the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Southie? Any good spots YOU can recommend? Please feel free to respond to this blog and yes I’m serious I want to know what you did!

Weekend ReKap w/Klass Entertainment…

Sup readers,

This blog is a little different in that it is what we like to do on Mondays or Tuesdays. We try to go over all of the events we have done and do a quick little recap about what went down. It’s a good way for those who are not working or were on different events to know what others were doing and stay involved. It’s called the Weekend ReKap and it’s written by Yours Truly. This past weekend was particularly interesting because I was just getting back from Puerto Rico (WHICH WAS AMAZING) and had zero time to turn around and Dj the Chocolate Bar first thing Saturday morning then shoot over and perform for the Bertner/Mundt Wedding by Sd Events. So with that… here is our weekend rekap…!

Hey all,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Just wanted to say i’m glad to be home and thanks for all the birthday wishes and gifts they were all appreciated.
Dj Murray and Shadi are heating up with the Dover sherborn folks as well as the Concord Ma area three times now have they worked together and been immediately request for another event within weeks of each other. That tells us that people are throwing parties just because of how good they are. Big Ups to the Both of you. Here’s what the client had to say about Dj Murray and Shadi:
The guys were awesome!  We had a terrific party!   Everyone loved the DJs!
Check is in the mail & We will continue to highly recommend this duo!!!
Take care!
Chocolate bar @ The Langham, Boston’s Cafe Fleuri was the busiest it’s been since the new season. As always the music was a little bit of everything and the guests seemed very pleased with the musical ambience provided by Klass.
Saturday night was a Residential Wedding for a client atop their Penthouse Condo over looking All of Boston and I mean all of Boston!! Dj Kazz was available to assist on this extremely long event and was told he was absolutely amazing and the client has said multiple times she has “NO Words” lol. So Thanks to Dj Kazz for raising the bar yet again and introducing clients and guests alike that function djs can bring an element that can’t be described by words. The event was planned by SD Events
We were also joined by Trifect Video Production who captured the entire night on video and were as always professional and talented individuals. We are looking forward to working with them alot in the upcoming weeks as we are looking at a December launch of our new Website! Yes i know about time… Stay tuned and thanks TVP…
Here’s what the party planner had to say this morning about the Bertner/Mundt Wedding.
“….so that’s what happens when you get your team together…..!!!

Kupah, where to begin?
Thank you so much for going above and beyond to make our client happy.
From meeting with her at her home, which I know is not typical….to bringing along Kaz to ensure that it would be perfect…to bringing the extra lights…and the addition of the video, all of it was so over the top.

In addition to the talent and energy that you bring to the table, the level of service that you provide is equally incredible.
It is such a  true pleasure working with you and your team.
Looking forward to the next one!
Ivy
And this was from the client the next day (sunday)
“*#$% you amazing. You killed it last night. Let us know if we can ever serve as any reference or if there is anything we can do for you to help you…”
So I hope you were all able to take a second and read this because we are doing some really good work out there and you should all be very proud. We have a lot of work to do moving forward to please let us know how we can be better ; )
Thanks everyone!

Steve Jobbs Commences…

Hey All,

Here’s a quick one which was shared with me from one of my Best Friends. It’s a great way to start off any day and believe me, it just became part of my presentation “Koreography of Life” Whether you are into technology or not, believe rumo-ville or not, stand outside of Apple Store on iPhone release day or watch 2-hr Keynotes from your desktop, iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone; This guy has changed the way we do things. From Music to Interviews, Movies to Ringtones, Texting to Emails and Talking to Sharing; Steve Jobbs will go down in History for being one of the most monumental beings of “My Time” anyway. I’ve watched his Keynotes for the past 5 years and never heard him say anything as touching as what he says below. I hope you can take 2 minutes from your day to read this and let it digest just for a second. Swish it around and see what it does to your mindset.

I blog, tweet & Facebook because I love what I do for a living; whether I am watching a beautiful bride walk down the isle to “Canon in D”, Watch a Family up in chairs at a Mitzvah while everyone else is performing the “Hora”, or observing High School Seniors close a chapter in their lives only to begin a new one at a Prom. I work with the most talented people I can think and HELL yes I’m Biased but we all WALK THE WALK (thankfully because I do TALK) RollKall: Kupah James, Ms. Ana, Michelle D, Tarryn P, Kaz C, Anthony V, Shadi K, Kevin M and our new cast of Damien C, Lindsay S, Nikki R, Juan D, and there are more! We are dedicated and I believe I speak for all when I say we love what we do so thank all of you for giving us the platform to perform and provide amazing entertainment for parties of all shapes and sizes. If it wasn’t for many of you (especially ones reading this blog) we would not exist and I thank all of you for that.

Please enjoy the passage and take it with you today on Sept 8 2011. Its cold, rainy and dark outside. Operative word being “Outside”, Don’t ever let it be the case on the INSIDE. It Doesn’t have to be your mindset. Choose!

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobbs – Stanford University Commencement.

The Day After…

Friday: Tash Shows up and we spend the day Shopping and buying her all kinds of goodies while making friends. Weird that we would make friends in public. It’s not like we are social or anything. 3 Outfits and 4 Heels Later she is a new woman with bags for days. YES, I made her carry her own bags. Friday night we checked out Dj KAZ formerly known as DJ TWIST at FELT, Boston. Night was all good until “Whip My Hair” came on and some girl Got her hair WHIPPED hahah! No Bueno so we rounded up the troops and SKATED. NOT MY SCENE.

Saturday: Tash visited me at the Chocolate Bar where I Dj every Saturday afternoon from 11am-3pm. She came, she saw, she conquered the Chocolate that is (and my wallet I might add). Later in the day Cousin Steve came to join the party and we all caught a quick cat nap. Then it was onto the next one. First a stop at Lolita to visit Xavier (Cousin)(Kup’s Roomate). Then off to BOND where DJ KAZ and KLASS were Spinnin. What was supposed to be a low key GRENADE turned into a Balls Out Celebration! Krazy how that happens whenever we are in the Building?!?! Tash was Dancing, Drinking, Mingling, Drinking, Laughing, Drinkinggggg. Someone find her and ask her how that worked out???

Easter Sunday: Tash no longer believes in Jesus because he would’ve never let Saturday Night Happen Haha. She has been UP-Chucking (That’s how she says it) Since Saturday night all the way through Sunday. We all watched the Heat Lose and The Celts Sweep So aside from the Launching Up of Tash’s intestines, The Day WAS GREAT! At night we have movie night and watched BOLT, Zzzzzzzzzzzz. Not her favorite movie.

Monday Morning: Now I’m watching her pack and sad already because I miss her! She is my angel, my motivation, my positive mood, my happiness and I hate to see her go. We have already made promises to see each other soon and Kup doesn’t make promises he can’t keep. I hope she has a safe trip home and I will be waiting for her safe arrival later this day.

Love you Sis! Hope you had a good time with Family and Friends. S2B forever!
