World Series Dj

Whether you’re a die-hard or fair-weather fan, many of us cannot ignore the heightened excitement brought on by our Boston Red Sox!

It started with a call of the upmost urgency and privacy: Music Management was looking for a final Dj to play alongside the incredibly talented “NIGHTSHIFT” Band. We were still in the Tampa Bay series and the event was to only take place if we won the Pennant.

There were dueling pianists, jazz bands and another Dj for this event of a lifetime planned by Nicole Simeral of Simeral & Co. Below are snapshots of just some of what was going on this night of Oct 21, World Series Party for the Boston Red Sox!

Enjoy…

My Dj Booth for the evening stacked on top of the main stage where NightShift performed with shadow dancers on each side and a light show for a mini concert.

My Homie, and Co-Dj Hevan, having some fun with a Ted Williams Cut Out. Vintage Black & White Filter to keep it Old School.

Joes Designer jeans, Classic Cedar Boot w high collar, Boss button down, trendy vest and trademark suspenders is how I rolled to the ball game. Yes, that’s the field I’m standing on and the Green Monster in the background. #MakeMoves

Sight line down 1st base straight to home plate. This is gonna be one hell of a ride. Go Sox! #FenwayPark- So I’m starting to think this is a big deal ehh?

Ok so maybe we met some players and maybe one of them let me try on his 2004 World Series Championship Ring? MAYBE!!??

Up close and personal shot of the Dj booth. Boots off to the side for that original look.

Media Everywhere, telecast and VIPs all over the place. Top of the dug-out and peep how the Boston Red Sox looks like a Nike Check/Shwoosh! Yep! #Panoramic

Must do chillin in the Red Sox dug-out No Big Deal… #WorldSeriesBaby

Something about a pole, lots of writing on it, I’ll spare you some of its language but nonetheless, kinda cool.

NightShift rehearsing and, he won’t repeat it, but the lead female vocalist gave Hevan the chills.

This car might belong to that guy who’s name begins w BIG and rhymes w Puppi… #JusSayin

I want to thank again for allowing me to part of such a cool experience!

Fall Mornings

Rolling over noticing the sun is up and already beaten you to the start of a new day. You’re not late for anything but you certainly didnt make the early whistles of dawn whispering “it’s time to wake up”. A morning yawn and cat-like stretch causes you to realize the slight drop in temperature from weeks past.

Only when you step outside the thought of a light jacket crosses your mind. There’s a distant fog slowly backing away from your vision. It didnt rain but your vehicle has the slightest touch of dew, the air exhales and the sun approaches it’s position in the sky.

Sun Glasses and Scarf season is here! Fall is an awesome time of year for Klass and myself!

3 Reasons why I’m looking forward to Fall:

  1. Chocolate Bar starts back up! No excuses, come to Chocolate Bar any Saturday for brunch and enjoy amazing food, the best of downtown Boston and sounds by a Klassmate or yours truly 😉 See this post for more details.
  2. Klass Universal Busy Season* It’s the season of Mitzvahs, holiday parties, seasonal weddings.. Time to #MakeMoves! As an aside, stay posted for regular event updates on the blog. I’ll be highlighting an event each week showing you some of the best Klass has to offer and some unique and fun aspects of the event/group itself.
  3. FOOTBALL! – Nuff said. Cannot contain my excitement. You now know where and what I’ll be doing every Sunday.

3 Ways you can make your Fall awesome:

  1. Start a new fitness routine! Get focused NOW before you’re dreading the holiday weight gain. There a ton of Fall races, many of them for charity, sign up for one and build a training plan.
  2. Pumpkin. Now, I’m not really a coffee drinker. But everyone else in my life is going bananas over Pumpkin coffee, pumpkin chai tea.. even my roommate is going on about pumpkin hummus and pumpkin muffins. So, I don’t know – embrace the Fall spirit 😛
  3. Embrace the Back to School season* It’s still back to school season for some of you and even if it’s not, take advantage of it and Shop for a new outfit – go buy a new Fall item; infinity scarves, jackets, running tights. Or, Start a Book – there are so many reasons why you should read more, pick up a book or download one to your iPad or other electronic device and then send me some recommendations.

Welcome Fall!

Movie Review: World War Z

I just saw World War Z and as we haven’t discussed a movie in over a year! Crazy considering that I LOVE movies.. I thought I’d jump in with a recent summer movie. This was marketed as, and is, a zombie flick – not usually my thing, but for those of you like me who aren’t really into the horror/monster/scare tactic genre, this was less like that and more action oriented.

It starts out with a family driving in traffic, people start running out of their cars and next thing you know its mass hysteria. The family takes off on foot and you get your first glimpse at the zombies, you see someone changing into a zombie and the action begins. Brad Pitt is the main character and patriarch of his family and apparently recently left his position working for the UN. He gets pulled in to track down the source of this global epidemic in exchange for his family’s safekeeping with UN officials. No spoilers here.

What I will say is that I enjoyed the acting, there was a lot of action, but it was a little uneven plot wise. Brad Pitt is going to a variety of places around the globe which was interesting to see and to follow how that came to be; there was a lot of tension throughout the film. There was very little focus or background on his family relationship or history which does make it harder to care about the characters or invest in them. I didn’t think the ending looped back to the beginning of the story, which I think would have added more depth either in understanding better or caring more. However, for the past year they’ve been talking about how the end of World War Z was entirely reshot which could explain it.

The zombies were runners which, I don’t care who you are or what you like, is scarier than any normal or slow moving creatures. Your heart rate definitely rises when things get moving. I don’t think it was a bad thing to not feel as invested in the characters or have a deep love story or subplot to the movie at all. It wasn’t the senseless gore, let’s hunker down and fight for our lives zombie film. This is because it wasn’t from the average joes’ perspective.

It’s literally what would the world governments do if this happened – you have access to more information and resources, you’re under fire, you’re firing and taking risks. Which is entirely different than what I expected and more what I like to watch.

In the age of Walking Dead, more and more zombie videogames and talk of Bath Salts inducing zombies on the news, I think zombies are the new vampires. If you’re hardcore into those things and are looking for a movie similar to all of that, World War Z isn’t what you’re looking for, if you don’t expect that and go in open-minded I think zombie-lovers to normal people alike would enjoy it. Overall, the acting, suspense and action scenes definitely make this a movie worth seeing.

****

Are you into the zombie craze? Have you seen World War Z – if so, thoughts?! Chances of a zombie apocalypse? Yes/No?

Until next time 😉

Inner Playlist of a Dj

The acronym Dj (Disc Jockey) is synonymous with fun, energetic, cool..the list goes on 😉 Most Djs are actually pretty socially awkward individuals who use the manipulation of tracks to speak/entertain the masses. In my case, Djing is a way for me to move the masses while engaging in my own level of enjoyment. Today my thoughts take me through an internal playlist of steps during an event or club night. Every Dj is different, this is just my take on this topic!

First it is important to know that I am crazy nervous each and every time I spin records or emcee an event. To think that as soon as I speak I will have everyone’s undivided attention is a little overwhelming and daunting. There are many ways to get through this but, if you know me at all, then you know that I just DO IT. No time to stress and waste time. It’s time to facilitate, organize and entertain so I do what I’m paid and trusted to do and get out there.

My second thought is who is in the room? Who are my ringers? Ringers are the ones at the party who get the party going for you as soon as you play a top 40 track! Lol. Ringers are good and you need/want them around as they are unpaid interns of entertainment! Ha. Ringers are usually a bridesmaid or relative of the guest of honor or the “class clown” of an organization/company. You don’t have to find the ringer they will find you during cocktail hour and usually ask for the most popular song to be played in the first 10 mins of the event. #Really? Ringers don’t and won’t have to be intoxicated to work either; they are self-sufficient and completely autonomous. Never overlook the Ringers as they can be your guide to many more events and will act as PR experts telling everyone how great you are. Work smarter – not harder.

Now the opposite of the ringers are the Djs sans portfolio! Now these individuals are and can be a nightmare so please, if you have a friend who does this, or better yet, if you are this person: STOP THEM OR STOP YOURSELF! These amazing life forms will usually be sneaking behind the Dj booth, looking over your shoulder, trying to see what your playing and what’s coming up next. If you’re not escorting them out from behind the Dj booth they are in your face asking you to play today’s “hottest music” (as if you didn’t know any better) or worse, they want you to play the bonus track to Elvis’ hidden album on repeat and swear that it will get EVERYONE dancing. Meanwhile, if they did a 180 they would see that the dance-floor is about 90% in full effect at the exact time they want to hear the never ending story theme song! C’Mon people! As if this wasn’t bad enough they are notorious for NOT DANCING and MEAN MUGGING you ALL NIGHT while you PURPOSELY DON’T/WON’T play their song. Sorry I laughed out loud on that one.

These two particular groups are the ones you want to look out for and be mindful of. Aside from them you want to play the best music for your crowd while providing the best amount of interaction. Our job is to inspire and remind our audiences of the fun they can be immersed into by the selection of songs played in particular order.

The goal is to forget what’s going on outside and focus on what’s going on inside. Music is easily the remedy to most mental frustrations and I’m proud and honored to be able to bring together strangers in a night club or share in the celebrations of families at a wedding or honor the Bar or Bat Mitzvah man/woman on their journey to adulthood. Proms are no different; playing hits of the last 10 years while students reminisce on the last four years of their lives and look towards new horizons. Playing that song you forgot about or dancing with that one person who hasn’t danced in years or watching a young one know the words to both a Rihanna song and a Michael Jackson song, seeing ties come off and heels removed (wait wait wait I got a little ahead of myself, heels should always stay on… #KLASSY) but you get the point.

This is what I do and this is the internal playlist of steps Boston’s Kupah James of Klass Universal Entertainment. Should I have the pleasure of entertaining your next party of if I have already had the honor of performing for you in the past, I love what I do and I do what I love. I’m extremely lucky to know and believe this. I plan on providing the Klassiest entertainment this country has ever seen and raising the bar for the next decade of Klassmates. Keep an eye out for Shadi, Bobby, Lindsay, Rachel, Kazz, Hectik, Case, Matty, Evan, J Diaz and more. We are changing the way private parties are played through Klassifying each one of our events and bringing them to the next level!

#MakeMoves! So, let’s hear it: Which are you?! Ringer or “Dj”?

Guest Post: Review of Pure Barre

Hey Everyone, I’m Sami, a friend of Kupah’s and this week I am guest posting about a new (to me) fitness trend I’ve tried out – Barre classes. I have been spending a lot of time in the past 9 months really trying out some new areas of fitness to get into a better and more enjoyable routine. Barre seemed like it would be a natural fit for me and so far it’s been AMAZING! There are many different studios and variations of barre; The Bar Method, Physique 57, Figure 4, etc and Pure Barre –

Spotlight on: Pure Barre. The Pure Barre website describes the technique as follows:

Pure Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time.   Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective, yet safest way to change your body…. The technique protects your joints as it does not involve any bouncing or jumping.  Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscle without bulk.

The Pure Barre studio in Boston just opened in the winter; I purchased their opening special, 5 weeks unlimited for $100 and you could start anytime. As soon as I signed up I immediately began second guessing what I had just done. Full Disclosure: I get super self-conscious exercising in front of other people and now, not only did I just sign up for this – but on Newbury St everyone is bound to be a size 0, perfect looking specimen right?

I read multiple reviews so I would be fully prepared going in (all of which said the classes were amazing and there was nothing to be worried about.) I walked in RIGHT on time because I couldn’t find parking – stress level through the roof, and BOOM girl at the front desk super welcoming, telling me not to worry, showing me to the lockers, changing room, what gear to pick up (small red ball, resistance band and 2 small hand weights<2-3lbs>) and sent me on my way. Complete calming effect.

The instructor asked if there were any new people in class, I was the only one – score! (eye roll) The class started and just jumps right in! I just started moving and trying to keep up for the first few minutes. She didn’t go over technique specifically, but the beginning was easy enough to follow. While I was a little disoriented, this was actually great for 2 reasons; you’re not wasting time and there’s no time to be worried about if other people are looking at you or if you’re doing horribly.

The first section of abs was REALLY hard for me. I was thinking about just how awkward it would be if I walked out. Then before I could finish that thought, we were switching to arms and I was fine! This was the tone for the class; as it’s getting almost unbearable and you’re ready to quit, you’re doing a change in the movement or on to working the next area of your body.

There are constant changes flexing your foot, going up on your toes, moving to tempo and then you’re moving from abs to arms to legs/thighs to seat to abs and stretching in between each. This made the time FLY!

The instructor, Courtney, could not have been nicer. The instructors walk around and will help you with your form, you can’t hear what they’re saying to someone else, so it’s never embarrassing and she specifically left me alone quite a bit, I’m pretty sure it was because I was new and I think she didn’t want to mortify me; I totally appreciated this. When she did approach me, she would ask if I was feeling it in the part of my body we were working on and I would say yes or no and she’d advise accordingly. I thought this was a great teaching tool, rather than just saying, “you’re doing this wrong!”

Your muscles are supposed to be shaking and burning.. And you may wonder how intense this was.. I think the best way to explain my experience is that it felt like my legs disengaged from my body and Michael Flatley Lord of the Dance took over. But, this felt AMAZING! I enjoy feeling the burn when I exercise, whether or not it’s true, it makes me feel like I’m actually getting something out of my exercise.

I stayed after to ask for some pointers from Courtney who was more than happy to help and very encouraging. I’ve since taken a few other classes and honestly need to stress that the instructors have all been SO NICE! They’re helpful, they’ve shown me modifications and told me that it’s tough in the beginning and you just need to build up strength in certain areas.

I do want to add that they say you’ll start noticing changes in as little as 9 classes. I have finished 6 classes and do already see some small, but measurable changes; some lifting 😉 , I fit into a pair of pants I haven’t been able to wear for a year and my core is stronger – I can now complete ab work without stopping or modification!

Between instructors and other people in the classes, not one person has given off a negative or judgmental vibe. No one has been paying any attention to me; there are women of ALL shapes, sizes and age. I have never felt LESS self-conscious in my life.

I highly recommend Pure Barre for anyone looking to add some variety to their routine, or to ease into fitness. It doesn’t require knowledge of complex fitness moves (ex: Clamshells – what ARE those? Sounds like a sex position to me.) The movements are simple and small, they’re not strenuous but you will burn so good and FEEL your workout. If you’re like me and a million other women who feel self-conscious and insecure, you can check your fears at the door. Everyone is encouraging, positive and kind. Check out a class and let me know what you think!

Boston Marathon

Hundreds of years ago the Ancient Greeks, founders of Democracy, fought the Persians for the freedom they strongly believed in.  The Greeks earned their freedom and defeated the Persians at the Battle of Marathon.  Immediately following the battle, the Athenian soldier Pheidippides ran from the battlefield at Marathon, 26.2 miles to the city of Athens.  When Pheidippides finally reached Athens, he stood amongst his people and managed to proclaim the final word “Victory!” before collapsing to his death.  This turning point in history, marking the beginnings of Democratic society is honored today with the tradition of the Marathon.

I wanted to share that bit of background, in case you had never heard that story before, but also because I think it’s a great story to have in mind when thinking about the events of this years Boston marathon.

I won’t rehash what happened, what I can say from that day was that I was safe and my nearest and dearest were safe and unharmed. What’s important is to focus on the good that was seen on Monday. There are many who are focusing on the culprit, the motives, the Why, their anger. And that is completely understandable.

I choose, however, to focus on the survivors, the courage, the What now and the future. There are many amazing stories of ordinary citizens, running towards the explosion to help the injured, the injured enduring the aftermath and remaining strong. The families of those that were lost have been speaking out with grace and appreciation for the strength and support from this nation. I think those messages spread hope and encouragement. That the good in people cannot be taken and doesn’t have to be lost.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the bad people in this world, but Patton Oswalt said it best when pointing out that there are so many more good people.

The courage of the survivors, the families, the civilians on the street right after, the businesses who sheltered people, the police, firemen and medical professionals who risk their lives to save others, was inspiring.

Now we move forward, we rise above, we figure out how to heal and we don’t let fear or hatred infect us. Whoever is behind this probably doesn’t have a satisfying answer as to Why, I don’t think any answer to Why would make anyone feel better or make any sense. But, it’s probably safe to say they wanted to make us afraid, this was an act of terror.

We win by not allowing that to take over. As a city we have a long and storied history of overcoming extreme adversity and conflict. The response to these events has not been any different. We are strong. #WeAreBoston. Boston is a city with a small town soul. We’re a family and we’re tough. So is this country.

The story at the beginning of this blog is representative of where we are today. We are a united group, of Bostonians, of Americans, of people, who are strong and can win any battle. This week has already been a journey and will continue to be one, but we will claim, “victory!” Either in our choices, in our focus on the positive, in continued change to be better and as we stand together.

Continue to #MakeMoves, #StayStrong, #BeKlassy, #WeAreBoston.

The Day that Einstein Feared

I don’t want to get on a soapbox about the following, I think it speaks for itself. But, it’s something I do feel strongly about and think it so crazy. It was only a few short years ago (or so it seems LOL) that people were only just starting to get cell phones.

The day that Albert Einstein most feared may have finally arrived..

[]

A day at the beach.

[]

Having dinner out with your friends.

[]

Out on an intimate date.

[]

Having a conversation with your BFF

BFF is “Best Friends Forever”

[]

A visit to the museum

[]

Enjoying the sights

[]

It’s hereClick Me!

Communication people! Interface – for real! Share a laugh so someone SEES you laugh out loud, take in the sights while you still have that luxury, spend time with your best friends, put the phone AWAY or OFF on a date.

I’m NOT suggesting  a war with technology, merely highlighting the experiences being missed that are happening right in front of you. I know that even I am guilty of sitting down at a table with friends at times and checking my phone for what is supposed to be a routine check to see if i have missed any notifications and I find myself clicking on a link then tweeting, making sure it posted to Facebook then seeing who retweeted it only to miss the whole introduction provided by the server and now I don’t know what the specials are? Not Making Moves…

I realize that we cannot stop the movement. Cell Phones and social media have already staked their claim on how we interact today and in the future to come. However allow me to offer a few suggestions on integrating them in a better way.

Instead of attempting to 86 cell phones lets make them part of the conversation. Let’s include the content at our fingertips as a way to spark convos or laughs. By bringing the cell phone into the convo rather ignoring your audience to stalk someone’s instagram, we are already off to a better start.

Between ECard, Meme’s, Rotten ECards and N*** Be Like and B**** Be Like there is a wealth of things to get the laughs going at a table and sharing them in person is even better than using group texting and other forms of mass sharing. Or if you are the serious types who yearn for CNN or Sportcenter, use those apps to converse over why we lost Welker and why people should be afraid that North Korea has 6 missile pointed in our direction for “TESTING” Um… We tend to not react very well to threats or imminent violence. Check the history books.

Another suggestion is to use the phones in a timely manner. Such as everyone checking their phones at the same time making appropriate responses, retweeting, stalking, liking and following, then the phones go back in a purse or anywhere that doesn’t disengage the user from the party. I have already begun doing this with myself and my friends. It comes off as rude at first but if you explain to people what you’re trying to accomplish, I feel that most would adopt the thought process behind what I’m saying here.

I am a communicator, if you know me you know that I talk and talk and talk and talk. To some that is not cool but to most it’s perfectly fine because I need to be interactive with people that I am around. It is not to hear myself speak! In fact it because I actually value your presence and self enough to engage in a conversation with you about whatever there is to be talked about. However, ladies and homegirls…. I am not your sister, gay best friend or mom so please spare me the conversations about how the clouds reminded you of the Olympic rings and then you thought about rings and what kind of ring you would want for your wedding which lead you to the rings under your eyes and how you need more concealer to cover it up…(large inhale)… I’m gonna pass on that fun piece of information. Thanks. You know who I’m talking to : )

Anyway in closing I just want to emphasize how important it is to interact and communicate with those around you AND those not around you (FB, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM etc). Never forget that people did many a great things before these services and I think that it would be a very sad thing when kids don’t know how to introduce themselves or ask a question… Think about it. Where do you fit in this time of Cell Phones, Kindles and Computers?

Live this life, enjoy this life and appreciate it. #MakeMoves.

Subject for Debate

A friend of mine is reading a book and sent me this passage over the weekend. She thought it would be an interesting conversation topic for me LOL!

****************************************************************

“Our entire society’s based on discontent: people wanting more and more and more, being constantly dissatisfied with their homes, their bodies, their decor, their clothes, everything. Taking it for granted that that’s the whole point of life, never to be satisfied. If you’re perfectly happy with what you’ve got—specially if what you’ve got isn’t even all that spectacular—then you’re dangerous. You’re breaking all the rules, you’re undermining the sacred economy, you’re challenging every assumption that society’s built on………..

Throughout history—even a hundred years ago, even fifty—it was discontent that was considered the threat to society, the defiance of natural law, the danger that had to be exterminated at all costs. Now it’s contentment. What a strange reversal.”

French, Tana (2008-07-17). The Likeness: A Novel (p. 165). Penguin Group. Kindle Edition.

*******************************************************************

I think there are many things to be said on this subject. It’s a great subject for debate and I think it’s a matter of what you do with the choices you make. If you’re happy with what you have and you’re content, but what you have are the things you truly wanted, not just settling for not making an attempt at your dreams, then I think that can be more than enough for someone.

It’s true that society is based on discontent in the more shallow dissatisfactions described above, but also on deeper levels. I believe it comes down to wanting to live and feel your life. Reaching, changing, trying on new ideas, careers and experiences in search for that meaning and feeling of fulfillment. Maybe it’s something that’s never attainable and that’s the journey that your life is, or maybe it is and either some people find it and it just doesn’t look the same as mine would.

I definitely want more. More businesses, more fun, more money, more success, more clients, more travel, more homes, more people to share this with: more. And I make no apologies for that. It gives me fire, it makes me who I am.

The second part, about how this principle has changed throughout history I just find interesting! That’s so true! I don’t even know what to say – it speaks so much for itself. That is history in its finest form, that’s the anthropology and the evolution of humankind. Done and done.

I personally don’t fear contentment; I guess I kind of feel sorry for it #NoFilter. Again, I do think it works, if you find what you really wanted along. If all you really wanted was a happy relationship with a secure home and 2 vacations a year to places you’ve always wanted to see. And, that happens, then I support that. If you look around and tell yourself you can’t do this or that’s not realistic and just accept that defeat, I don’t.

Please share your thoughts and opinions!

Klass Universal Event Recap: Olivia’s Mitzvah

Spring is almost here and we have begun the 2013 Mitzvah season. This year we started off w a client/friend we have been working with for almost two years!
It was held at the very popular Rumor Boston a local nightclub. Everything was there the sound, lighting and the awesome space. The lovely, talented Ivy Fynn was the event planner and she made sure we had everything we needed.
There were almost 300 in attendance for this bash and Klass was fully staffed with our own Dj Kazz, Shadi, Leanna, Kayla & our newest member Bobby D. Creative Events was also in the building providing temporary tattoos and awesome photo booth novelties. We’ve been integrating more and more novelty items and they add so much to the experience and seriously, where were these items when I was growing up?!
Everyone had a good time and Olivia (guest of honor) looked so pretty, sisters Carley and Leana were also looking quite marvelous. Mom and Dad were ready to let loose and just wanted to make sure everyone danced the night away. To top the night off we even had one of our Djs make a customized mix for everyone at the party. So much fun was had and we are glad that everyone was happy! It really is a success when we can have just as much fun as everyone in attendance!
Below is the letter we received from the planner and we could not be more appreciative of her and the opportunities she gives us!
Any questions about Klass Universal events – please ask! And, as always, subscribe, share and comment. Until Next Time!

How do you challenge yourself to #MakeMoves?

How do you challenge yourself? I write a lot about #MakeMoves and how I strive everyday to accomplish as much as i can and live as much as possible. But, how do I do that everyDAY? How do you?

I have days like everyone else when I don’t want to leave my place and I just want to watch movies or play a game and ignore my phone. And, I definitely take time to do those things, but usually it will be a part of my day, not my entire day. So I don’t call them bad days I have unpleasant “Moments” lol these moment are part of life and I take them and do my best to find the good in every moment. Usually just by trying a little harder those moments become motivators and I continue on a better, happier, healthier path.

I focus on my goals. My goals exist for a reason, they’re things I WANT and ENJOY. This is motivation enough for me. I am very disciplined when it comes to reaching my goals, because my goals are pretty dope as it is! There are times when others will attempt to change my focus and provide unsolicited advice. It may sound a little harsh but I would implore you to not listen to these individuals. Yes, it is in a good nature that they are trying to help. But most cases people never fully understand all the variables and factors going into every/any situation therefore they advice, opinions and thoughts are off by default. It is no fault of theirs and if you tell them then for sure they will be insulted so stay focused on the goals and for goodness sake trust yourself. If you got yourself to Monday and Tuesday then there’s no reason why you can’t make through Wednesday and Thursday, Friday and the weekend will take care of itself. Lol.

I remind myself of how great it feels. It feels pretty amazing to look at what I’ve done in a day and FALL into bed with NO regrets. People want to know why I smile so much.. I’ve made moves all day and created my own happiness what?! It feels great to get new events, meet with new event planners, new clients, new equipment and at the end of the day it feels great doing what I love and even better people love WHAT I DO! So remind yourself of how great it feels to do something good for another or yourself. DO IT!

I know I only have me to blame. This sounds negative but stick with me. I’ve built my circumstances and I’m my own boss, if I stop and fail it’s on me. I not only let down myself but I let down those that support me and believe in me. It’s a big responsibility and enough to keep me moving. There are no excuses in the world of Entrepreneurship and I won’t make any. I come off harsh at time to those I care about and I can only hope they understand the pressure I am under to answer every question when it reaches my desk. I don’t think many understand and I don’t need you to. But My role is a role I welcome gladly, the good/perks and the whole bag that comes with it.

I want to be the change. How can I tell other people to #MakeMoves and to expect more of others, if I slack myself? Let’s face it, I talk about this all day long and I’m not about to be a hypocrite. Lead by example. I didn’t make it up but I remember that phrase in my head all day everyday. But know that if I get my job done you better get yours done as well. Accept responsibility for all not just the rewards.

When it’s hard, I try harder. If I am walking into undiscovered territory, I’m nervous (it DOES happen,) or maybe I’m not feeling 100% I just push forward. I usually end up meeting someone new, LEARNING something new, having a blast or challenging myself physically or mentally. People want to believe in other people so give them something to believe in. If you sound like your knees are trembling then that will show and then your message will get lost in the fray, but if you stand tall and look people in the eyes (STRUT) then with everything you got… Fake it till you make it! It works trust me (wink, wink.) You think I woke up one day and said “Oh, I wanna host events of the highest regard with celebrities and fancy venues, mitvahs and weddings at the State Room?” Haha. Not a chance… I faked it and made it. Period.

You might say, that all sounds great, but is it really a big deal to just say screw it once in awhile? No, it’s not a big deal. But, it’s a choice and it leads to other choices. Giving yourself a reason to dial it in is giving yourself a reason to sell yourself short. No debating about it. Still not convinced? Let’s try this, next time you want to take a “Day Off” think about some man or woman somewhere who isn’t and how much they are accomplishing in those hours you wanted to CHILL. Then, and only then if you still feel like your “Day Off” is justified then go nuts. But if you’re, like me or people that I MakeMoves with, then your picking up what I’m putting down.

How many of those days are enough days to get you off track? How many of those days are days that could have brought you that much closer to something? And honestly, how many of those days do you feel as good about yourself and energized in comparison with the days when you #MakeMoves?
